Sean had his first meeting as the Springfield Easter Seals Youth Meeting facilitator on Presidents Day February 11.    He had to be there for training and set up from 3:30-5:30 and the meeting was from 5:30-7:30.  The president of Easter Seals and Sean's boss for this job (Colleen), both said he did a great job leading  the meeting.  There was a very strong turn out of young adults from ages 15-24.

The Associate staff of the Vocational Department have a wealth of experience in supporting young adults in developing important work skills in a variety of settings: the Campus Work Center, the greater RSS Campus, and at community worksites throughout the North Central Connecticut region.  They are the front line of delivering vocational services to RSS students.  I am grateful on a daily basis for the dedication, expertise, ingenuity, creativity and care that they bring to their work with the students.  Most Fridays, there is a Departmental staff meeting to review the week:  new projects, initiatives, concerns, recommendations.  Part of the meeting is always devoted to staff sharing events that have occurred during the week that highlight successes that individual students have experienced.  I would like to begin to have the Associates share with you some of those successes on a regular basis.  So, keep a look out for the first installment of "Vocside Stories".  John Tyner
